The story
Some projects begin with a business question. This one began with a birthday. Imi’s Champions Cup gave me a reason to build a playful identity and follow it through the details: the logo, coordinated shirts, invitations, an RSVP website, and the other pieces that make an occasion feel connected.
I’ve designed it around a soccer-inspired world, including a trophy illustration and coordinated materials. What interests me is how the same idea can behave differently on a shirt, an invitation, or a page someone opens on their phone. Each piece has a job to do, but together they should feel like they belong to the same occasion.
I wanted to include this because it shows something about how I create when the reason is a person I care about. The work can be detailed and carefully designed while still being playful. I enjoy the idea that the invitation is the beginning of the experience, and that the small things can keep telling the same story. Sometimes a birthday is simply a lovely place to put a lot of imagination.
