Fix & Flip or Remodel
I’m planning a calculator that connects renovation work, timing, costs, and a possible resale into one picture—so the exciting idea has to meet its assumptions.

At a glance
- Who it helps: Property investors and, in a later phase, homeowners planning a remodel
- The problem: A property can look like a deal before renovation, holding, financing, and resale assumptions are considered together.
- My role: App creator and deal-workflow designer.
- Plan purchase, renovation, holding-cost, and profit inputs
- Work backward from resale assumptions toward a purchase range
- Keep photo analysis and homeowner remodel estimates on the future roadmap
The story
A property can suggest a whole future the moment you look at it. Then there is the less glamorous question: what would it take to get from the house in front of you to the one you are imagining? Fix & Flip or Remodel is the calculator I’m planning around that question.
The first version is intended to connect a renovation scope with purchase price, financing, holding costs, a possible resale value, and a target profit. Working backward could help someone examine an offer ceiling under the assumptions they have entered. The point is to put the pieces in the same conversation, where a change to the work or the timing can be seen in the overall picture.
It is still a planned product. Broader homeowner budgets and photo-assisted suggestions belong to later ideas, and rough estimates would show their assumptions and ranges. What appeals to me is the discipline of asking better questions before committing to an exciting idea. I want the tool to make those questions easier to examine. That seems useful in real estate and, honestly, in the rest of my projects too.
What I’m creating
A deal calculator connecting renovation scope, financing, holding costs, resale value, and target profit. Homeowner budgets and photo-assisted scope suggestions belong to later phases.
